PROGRAMS AND CLASSES


The Spectrum Gym offers a range of programs and classes, most of which are included with your membership.

Cardio Kickboxing:  Cardio Kickboxing is a high energy aerobic workout utilizing focus pads, kick pads, heavy bags, speed balls and more to increase your cardiovascular fitness and strength.  Excellent for co-ordination, reflexes and to pump out the adrenalin!  The class is 1 hour in duration.

Commando Course: If you want some variety, fun and training that will push you to your limits both physically and mentally, then we have the course for you.

Come and join our commando course. This style of fitness training is based around military style training. Our activities are modified to suit all fitness levels and abilities, and our fully qualified trainers will be able to push you to your limits safely so you get the most out of your training.

You will participate is such training as stores carry, running, rope and log runs, team building exercises and you will also be able to complete spectrums very own commando obstacle course.

Our programs are hard and fun involving an array of health and fitness principles, lots of new age equipment and team building challenges and most of all fun, fun, fun. The commando course is unlike any other. It is specifically designed to integrate tough workouts with the support and motivation of a team.

  • the activities are challenging and each day of the course is unique
  • all activities are out doors and held at the fitness centre.
  • All levels of fitness are catered for, so come give it a go.
  • Competition is encouraged and trying your best is mandatory.
  • Individual and team workouts push everyone on their own level.
  • The classes are hard, but everyone tries their best and are expected to perform at their own level.
  • You can join as an individual or with friends.

Commando sessions are for 1hr on Saturday mornings from 9am-10am with Corey B.

Pedalmania:  The ultimate bike class.  Motivating music, fun instructors to push you to your pedalling limits! Great way to lose those extra kilos.  The class is 1 hour in duration.  Maximum of 12 participants.

Pilates:  Strength training movements involving coordinated breathing techniques. Designed to condition and tone the whole body, correct muscle imbalances and improve posture.  This class is 1 hour in duration.  Maximum of 12 participants.

Power Attack: A cardiovascular interval training program that combines high intensity aerobics, strength and stabilization exercises. Classes are high in motivation, provided by dynamic instructors and exciting music. This class is 1 hour duration. Maximum of 12 participants.

Super ABT:  A Cardio based class with special attention focusing on the abdominals, gluteus and tights. Every class that is offered has its own unique style. With excellent results coming your way, you don't want to miss this very popular class! This class is 1 hour in duration.

Super X-Train: A cardiovascular and/or weights based class which provides heaps of variety.  This class is great for any fitness level and will help to improve both your cardiovascular fitness and assist with strengthening and toning your hold body.  This class is 1 hour in duration.

Tabata:  A Tabata workout is an interval training cycle of 20 seconds of maximum intensity exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest, repeated without pause 8 times for a total of 4 minutes. Tests have proven that just 4 mins of Tabata interval training could do more to boost aerobic and anaerobic capacity than an hour of endurance exercise. This class is 30mins in duration.

Yoga:  An ancient practice that uses special positions and breath control to stretch and tone the body, improve circulation, calm the central nervous system and induce a meditative and all embracing state of being.  This class is 1 hour in duration.
Maximum of 12 participants.

Zumba® Fitness: Combines Latin music with easy-to-follow moves. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. This class is 1 hour duration. Maximum of 12 participants.

Zumba®  Gold: It takes the Zumba® formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. This class is 1 hour in duration.  Maximum of 12 participants.

Zumbatomic®: Designed exclusively for kids (ages 4-12) The Zumbatomic program rounds out family fitness goals by giving parents a great reason to head to the gym – for themselves, for their kids, for a totally fun family experience. This class is 1 hour duration. Maximum of 12 participants.
